Grass Maintenance
The yards are normally made up of a lawn area and a beds area. There are areas that are exposed to direct sun and others to some variable degree of shade due to the house, walls, trees and the plants themselves within the yard. You must be aware of the use you give to the yard: if it is ornamental and decorative, if your children give it constant sporting use, and if you have pets or not. You should also know its components and needs.
What are the most common types of grass in the United States?
There are different types of grasses, but the most used in our region are: bermudagrass (cyn), and mixtures of grass seeds with a predominance of the fescue type. Each of these has different requirements in terms of height and frequency of cutting, irrigation, fertilization and care in general.
Irrigation
Irrigation routines in hot weather may be daily or every two days. This is enough to contribute to a lush, good-looking lawn, provided other maintenance and nutrition conditions are in place. The ideal watering time will depend on each house, just avoid watering in brighter hours to avoid excess evaporation loss.
Cutting
At KIN VALLEY we use cutting machines with cutting height adjustment, simultaneously carving the edges with a mechanical cutter; For the good maintenance of your lawn, the cut should be with cutting intervals of 7, 10 or 14 days. We frequently cut the grass below the recommended height, removing a large percentage of the blade, which is what gives the grass its green color, or we space the cuts at greater intervals, achieving a very marked variability in cutting heights.
